You can ask for the release of all monks, nuns and lay people who have been detained and imprisoned for peacefully protesting; and that those facing charges should be provided with independent legal counsel. You could ask too for the fundamental rights of Tibetans to be respected, especially the freedom of expression and freedom to practice their religion. Also important is that Tibetan regions should be open to allow access to foreign media, humanitarian agencies and independent observers.
You can write or email expressing your deep concern about the deteriorating situation in Tibet. You could ask that the British government publicly state its concern over the current situation and, along with other international governments, persuade China to ease the increasingly tense situation by withdrawing its troops from Tibetan regions, review its repressive policies in Tibet and grant universally recognised human rights to the Tibetan people.
